Pre-Viking Age (800 – 400 BC).

Deercalf motif, found at Århus, Denmark. The remainder of the pin on the backside indicates that it was originally used as a brooch, and then as a pendant. The animal motif is seen over and over again during this period in figures and ornamentation on weapons, tools and jewelry.
