Authentic museum reproduction handcrafted in Denmark by Museums Kopi Smykker
Germanic Iron Age (400-800 BC.).
Found in gilded silver in Birka, Sweden. The figure symbolizes the female war spirit – the Valkyrie. Valkyries accompanied heroes into battle and wore often various guises – as powerful guardians and advisors on the battlefield, as beautiful maids offering their love to the warriors, and as escorts of dead heroes to Valhalla. The Valkyrie’s hair is put up in a heavy knot in the back and wears an enormous necklace down over her robe.
The original artifact is to be found at the Historiska Museet, Stockholm.
Individually numbered and hallmarked. A booklet detailing the age and the place of origin of the original is included.
